Perla :Thanks to you!
Giovanni : Let’s talk about Perla for a while.
Perla : Well... Perla was born long ago in 1981... Well, I started dubbing when I was 4 years old, and I have done it for the rest of my life, about 22 years from that moment...
Giovanni : It’s no use asking you how this passion was born...
Perla : Correct...
Giovanni : ...because it was born with you!
Perla : ...it was born by itself! It was pure chance. My uncle was dubbing "Beverly Hills", and I entered by chance in a dubbing studio, I still couldn’t read or write. I started the following week, dubbing my first movie (a french movie). I can’t event remember what movie it was... but it was a french one. Don’t look at me like that...
Giovanni :And what about Farscape?
Perla : Well, I liked Farscape a lot. I immediately felt for the character of Sikozu, because...
Giovanni : How did you caught Sikozu, because we immediately can see that you...
Perla : Well, she helps a lot: she’s very good in her original part, and I only had to imitate her, somehow. It did not take a lot of fantasy, to me. I liked her because she’s tough, and I’m not. So, she’s my alter ego, the part of me that I can’t be. So... She has this aggressive temper, but she’s ironic and tender at the same time; I liked her a lot. And I've already told you, she’s really a good actress, so it was very easy for me. She cut my work in two.
Giovanni : Is there something about Sikozu that you did not like?
Perla : No... No no! I liked her very much, even some time ago I was talking to a girl here, I liked the love story between John Robert Crichton and Aeryn Sun, but I wouldn’t exchange it for Sikozu. I liked her interely. I told you, she’s very stubborn, obstinate, hard... and a little bit evil. No no.
Giovanni : You worked side by side everyday with all the other dubbers and  you surely went through strange situations, and you made friend with the people you worked with. Is there some anecdote that you can tell us?
Perla : I told you, no real big story has happened, I mean... We made Farscape and sometimes I was alone working on the dubbing, and sometimes with Pierluigi Astore, sometimes with Scorpius' dubber, and between us there still was a friendship, a very good relationship. So even during the difficult scenes, we tended to help each other. We just got stronger in friendship.
Giovanni : If not Sikozu, which other character in Farscape would you have liked to dub?
Perla : Well... I really liked Sikozu!
Giovanni :Let’s suppose she wasn’t in the story, erased from the series!
Perla : Well, probably... let me think... maybe Chiana. I have not a feeling with Aeryn Sun, I’m sorry.
Sara: I’m the real Aeryn...
Perla : Yes, you Sara are the real  Aeryn Sun! No. Aeryn Sun no. I don’t like her, even if she’s a tough one there was something I disliked about her. I liked Chiana instead, she has a good acting and she challenges you to imitate her way.
Giovanni : Yes.
Perla : ...and by the way she is ironic, and this relationship with Ka D'Argo... Her.
Giovanni : ...she's plenty of joy of living, spreading all over the series...
Perla : ...yes, and she’s completely nuts, out of her mind. Yes, probably Chiana. But I say it again, Sikozu... she fitted me. She fitted me a lot.
Giovanni : ...a lot.
Perla : ...just her. Or Chiana. But not that much.
Giovanni : I see. And what are you doing now?
Perla : Well, I’m dubbing some toons, I was involved in some episodes of Babylon 5... and well... I’m in stand by...
Giovanni : Who were you dubbing, in Babylon 5?
Perla : Well, I dubbed Laurel, a Japanese girl, in the pilot. And then I dubbed... oh God, I can’t remember her name... Londo’s fiancée... Adira! Bravo! He’s prompting... Adira. Well, anyway, I watch all Babylon 5 in English, so I can have a whole comprehension of it.
Giovanni : Now I wouldn’t start a galactic war between Farscape and Babylon 5 fans... but which series among the two...
Perla : Farscape.
Giovanni : Farscape!
Perla : I mean, sorry...
Giovanni : We thank you for this answer...
Perla : ...sorry...
Giovanni : ...that surely made us very happy...
Perla : ...but I interrupted you...
Giovanni : ...undoubtedly...
Perla : No no, Farscape. I do not like Farscape because I dubbed a role character, and I didn’t in Babylon 5. I really liked the series a lot.
Giovanni : Well, this is deserving an applause!
Perla : Undoubtedly Farscape. I liked characters, stories... no no no no. Everything.
Giovanni : Talking about Farscape, which’s the male role you liked best?
Perla : Can we count Rygel XVI as a male role?
Everybody: Yes! Yes! Yes!
Lucia: Absolutely yes.
Giovanni : Yes. Of course, being a Dominar, I’m very pleased about it!
Perla : Well, Rygel. I absolutely like Rygel... I used to call Rygel his dubber, Vladimiro Conti; his way to say “Rygel!”, and he’s very funny, with his little farts...
Giovanni : Yes, when they talk after they breath helium...
Perla : Yes, helium. But I liked all the male roles, because Crichton is handsome, nice, funny; I liked D’Argo beacuse he’s tender even if he’s big and very tall.
Giovanni : And D'Argo is dubbed by the great Pierluigi...
Perla : Pierluigi Astore... No no, it’s a very well-done series; I liked it entirely. God! I am a very fierce Farscape fan too!
Giovanni : We’re glad to hear it!
Perla : I figured out this thing.
Lucia: And shipper too!
Perla : And shipper too! Now I understand what shipper means. I learned this new word.
Giovanni : Well, would you like to tell us more?
